Becky & Simon

It’s all about the love….

Becky and Simon’s wedding in the spring of 2016 reminds me why I like Carbis Bay Beach Club so much. With the help of Harriet and the team at the hotel, the bride and groom were able to bring their own style to their wedding day, which was full of colourful spring flowers, beach games and several different kinds of Gin….

The couple had decided to break with tradition and meet for a beer before the ceremony, which gave the day a ‘break the rules’ excitement, and made the day feel like it was all about the love. The hotel had arranged a lovely space for them to enjoy a few quiet moments to relax together by the spa, before the exchange of vows. While first look photos are the norm in America, this type of thing is rare in the UK, where most couples stick to tradition, only seeing each other at the ceremony. We had chatted about it before hand and felt that not setting it up too much would keep things as natural as possible. When it came to it, it felt very special. It was lovely to watch them and feel the emotion in Becky’s tears when she saw Simon waiting by the gazebo. Days like this remind me how lucky I am to do this job and witness so many special moments.

The beach club had been dressed with very colourful spring flowers and was filled of sunlight which made the sea sparkle as the perfect backdrop to the ceremony.

It’s unusual to have surf rolling in on Carbis Bay Beach, but the stiff wind on the bright spring day made a beautiful beach wedding venue look spectacular. By the time the warm evening light came around, the tide had dropped back creating mirror reflections on the sand – a wedding photographers dream and perfect memory for the bride and groom.
